NWEA Website

Each school year, students in grades K-11 take an assessment called Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®). All students in grades K-11 take the tests in September, January, and May. The MAP tests determine each child’s instructional level and measure academic growth throughout the school year (and from year to year) in the areas of reading (grades K-11), language (grades 3-11), mathematics (grades K-11), and science (grades 5-11).

MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for each child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing.
